Halloween Costume Dress Code
Posted Date: 10/19/26 (05:00 PM)
Good afternoon PUSD families! With Halloween around the corner, here’s a quick update on our dress code for costumes. Students are welcome to dress up and join the fun on Friday, October 30th. To keep the day safe and enjoyable for everyone, please follow these guidelines:
- Keep it safe and distraction-free. Costumes shouldn’t disrupt the school day. Safety is always one of our top priorities.
- Faces need to stay visible. Staff must be able to recognize students, so no masks, face coverings, fake blood, or heavy face paint. (Masks and face coverings are okay during the parade only.)
- No weapons or questionable props. This includes both real and fake weapons.
- Keep it school-appropriate. No costumes that are provocative or sexual in nature.
- No violence, alcohol, or drugs. Costumes shouldn’t depict or reference any of these.
- Be respectful. No costumes that stereotype or mock someone’s culture, gender, heritage, or religion.
We want every student to have fun and take part in the festivities in a way that lets everyone enjoy a great Halloween. Thanks for your help!
Best,
Mat Bigham
Principal
